139 ECDIS Systems to the Indian Navy
Transas supplies 139 ECDIS systems to the Indian Navy fleet. The contract was signed in 2006 with the Republic of India Ministry of Defence acting as the final customer.
Upon signing the contract, Transas underwent factory acceptance tests (FATs) with representatives from the Indian Navy, ensuring that the ECDIS systems conformed to the quality & technical standards adhered too by both parties. Successfully completed, the full manufacturing procedure began, enabling Transas to complete the contract within the agreed period.
The Indian Navy Fleet will be utilizing the many features of Transas’ Navi-Sailor 3000 ECDIS-I, the company’s advanced Electronic Chart Display and Information System. Renowned amongst mariners for it’s user-friendly operation, Navi-Sailor 3000 ECDIS-I includes tools for passage planning, weather routing and calculation. Additional options enable users to customize the system to meet their needs and include multiple operations modes with charts in up to 7 different formats. Up to 20 different navigational data sensors and information systems can be connected including gyro, log, two ARPA’s, AIS, echo sounder and autopilot.
In addition to the ECDIS systems supplied, Transas will also provide comprehensive system training using its advanced simulation systems.
